Obituary
Edith Ardene Burbridge, 92, of Fort Dodge, died January 11, 2012 at Tompkins Memorial Health Center.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Gunderson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Shepherd officiating. Interment will be held in North Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. today (Friday) at Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
Edith Ardene McKenney, the daughter of Harry and Myrtle McKenney, was born April 27, 1919 in Logan, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Charles Burbridge on October 14, 1937 at Missouri Valley, Iowa. Ardene worked as a cook at Martha’s Café in Manson and was later employed as supervisor of housekeeping with Service Master working at Trinity Regional Medical Center. Ardene was a member of Otho United Methodist Church. Throughout the years she enjoyed sewing, embroidery, crafts, baking, gardening and traveling.
Survivors include her children; Norma Hughett of Fort Dodge, Jane (Robert) Fleming of Leon, Jenelle (Charles) Busse of Pierre, SD, and Carol Morrell of Washington Township, MI; 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles, her son C. Russell Burbridge, daughter-in-law Anna Burbridge and her sister Helen Craft.
