Kevin Rogers is a native of Marshalltown, Iowa and was introduced to funeral service by Phil Gunderson in 1983. He was employed with Gunderson's as a student assistant before returning to Marshalltown where he completed his pre-mortuary school studies. Kevin married Michelle Cooper in 1987, and then graduated from Worsham College of Mortuary Science in Chicago, IL. He served his apprenticeship and received his license while employed in Marshalltown. Kevin also obtained his license to practice mortuary science in Wisconsin. In July, 1990, Kevin and Michelle and their five month old infant Nathan (a 2008 FDSH graduate) moved to Fort Dodge where they established their home. Since then, the family has grown with the arrivals of David, who is now a student at Fort Dodge Senior High, and Jared (Jerry), who is now a student at Phillips Middle School. Academics, theatre and athletics are all part of the Rogers family life.
In his spare time, Kevin is a member of First Presbyterian Church where he has served as an Elder and member of the Church Session, and has served on a variety of committees over the years. He is a current member of the Trinity Hospice Foundation Board, is a past board member and district chairman for the Boys Scouts Twin Lakes District of Iowa and has served on advisory committees to the Fort Dodge Community School District. Since 2005, he has assisted in set construction for the Fort Dodge Senior High musicals held in May and more recently has assisted with the Fort Dodge Senior High Booster Club. In
September 2008, Kevin was elected to the Fort Dodge Community School District Board of Directors. His preferred hobby is sports officiating. He has been a registered official since 1991, and works primarily middle school and senior high basketball and football.
As a funeral director, Kevin is committed to providing families with the highest quality service. This is made possible with having the finest colleagues available in his fellow staff members. Kevin serves the community as a certified eye enucleation technician and he is a member of the IFDA Mortuary Emergency Response Team. He is a member of numerous professional organizations such as OGR, IFDA, NFDA and CANA.
