Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery in Fort Dodge. | | Visitation: Visitation will be 10:00 AM until the time of service on Friday at the First United Methodist Church in Fort Dodge. | | Obituary: Paul is survived by his loving family, this includes his wife, Marian; his three children Sue (Vic) Gordon of Cincinnati, Ohio, Jim (Mary) Sjurson of Columbia, Missouri and David Sjurson of West Des Moines, Iowa; he is also survived by 12 grandchildren, Joshua (Linette), Nathan, Jonathan, and Joy Gordon; Laura (Jay) Uchtman, Annie, Emma, Molly, and Grant Sjurson; Ashley, Sarah, and Ryan Sjurson.
E. Paul Sjurson, the son of John and Carrie Sjurson, was born October 9, 1928 in Ames, Iowa. He graduated from Ames High School in 1946 and Iowa State University in 1950. After graduation Paul worked for General Electric in Bridgeport, CT and was called into service in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He served 2 years of active duty and remained in the Iowa Air National Guard in Des Moines for 18 years. In 1950, he married Marian Chesling and they made their home in Fort Dodge for 50 years. Paul worked for Land O Lakes before retiring
Paul was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, serving on the finance and trustee committees. He was also on the Board of Directors of the YMCA and Camp Foster.
Paul will be remembered for his outgoing personality, love of tennis, his love of his family and his Lord and his unconditional service to anyone who had a need.
