Memories for E. Farber Family       Showing 1-7 of 7

Dad came from a farming community in northeastern Nebraska, and managed to see much of the United States during his Air Force Service and summer-long camping trips when we were children. He put himself through school with his GI Bill and a variety of jobs, and taught Industrial Arts and Electronics in public schools for more than 30 years before becoming a college instructor. He never retired, though - he was always fixing something or making something! His whistle, his knowledge, his know-how, and his wry sense of humor will be missed. Condolences to his wife Jo Ann, who loved him and was married to him for 24 years on Valentine's Day. Sleep well, Dad.

Lee was a wonderful husband to my Mother, Jo Ann. They were married for twenty-four years on Valentine's Day. She often describes him as her friend and soulmate. Lee liked to keep his mind sharp with crossword puzzles and reading. I was always amazed when he would recite the alphabet backwards faster than I can say it forwards! He really enjoyed his woodworking projects, playing golf (Lee would throw my husbands golf ball back on the fairway if he hit it out of bounds) and watching old Western movies and programs about animals. His dog "Beans II" kept him busy playing fetch and hide-and-go-seek. Lee was Beans' best friend and still waits for him to return. Despite what Lee had to endure in his final weeks, he had a smile, a wink and a thank you. He will be greatly missed by us all. The Holm Family- Jim, Roxanne, Megan & Eric

Lee and my Mom, Jo Ann, had a special relationship. They could share anything with each other and enjoyed long conversations together. Lee referred to my Mother as, "My Buddy" and also lovingly as "The Boss". Lee was always my Mom's, "Better Half". Lee enjoyed a good game of golf in the summer and even got a hole in one. He enjoyed going to his class reunions in Nebraska every year to see his high school classmates. Lee also had a love of woodworking and made many items for the home. My family enjoys the knick knack shelf and serving bowls he made for us. The Scott family: Cindy, Mike, Jessica and Amy

I remember taking 7 and a half hour car rides alll the way down to Kansas City to seee grandma and grandpa. I was excited when they moved up to Iowa because we could visit more often since they weren't so far away. When they moved into their new house it had a pool table in the basement, where grandpa and I played many games of it. He was very good and knew exactly what he was doing, he would even help me out with difficult shots and it helped every time. We will all miss him. <3

I am thankful to have had a Grandpa whom I enjoyed spending time with as much as I did. His heart was loving and his sense of humor like no other. Many conversations that we had led to discussion and his advice to me about becoming a teacher. He always advised against it because he knew better than anyone how much work it is. I always replied with a smile that said, "Yes, but you did it and I want to as well." His words of wisdom will not be forgotten and I will always remember him as I face the good and the bad of doing what he spent the majority of his life doing. He was a very intelligent person and undoubtedly an admirable teacher. He may have warned me, but his dedication only makes me want to be a teacher that much more. I will miss him dearly.

I remember spending time with my "Crappaw" in the summers... playing in the yard while he was working on something. I remember watching him square dance- that seemed to be a passion of his. I remember that my "Crappaw" always knew the answer. He will be dearly missed- I wished his great-grandchildren could have gotten to know him better. May you rest in peace, Crappaw.

I will always remember my time with Lee fondly. I enjoyed watching classic Westerns with him, playing pool or simply chatting with the golf game on mute in the background. He will be missed. I would like to extend my sincere condolences to his loving wife, my grandmother.
