Betty Jane Johnson

Betty Jane (Raymond) Johnson, 86, of Fort Dodge, IA passed away peacefully on Dec. 19, 2020 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home. Betty was born on Sept. 29, 1934 to Frank Raymond and Amelia (Katasabek) Lanning. She is preceded in death by her parents and her siblings; Dorothy Porter, Helen Whelchel, Frank Raymond Jr., Maxine Oberhelman and Nancy Mabe and her son William “Willy” Farmer. Betty is survived by her son Phil (Kathy) Farmer Sr. and 4 grandchildren, Tina (Gage) Hendrickson of Fort Dodge, Phillip Farmer Jr. of Fort Dodge, Ashley (Matt) Hanson of Castle Rock, CO and Steven Farmer of Humboldt, IA. She also leaves behind 4 great grandchildren, Ashley, Seth, Sunshine and Violet and her very special black lab Molly. Family meant everything to Betty. Her 2 sons were her pride and joy. She adored all her grandchildren and loved spending time with them. Betty enjoyed playing cards and BINGO, volunteering and being a foster grandma to many. Anyone who knew Betty, knew she was a feisty one. In the words of her great grandchildren, “she was one who never failed to make crazy memories and create laughter at any given moment.” She will forever be missed. Cremation rites will take place with Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Due to COVID, a celebration of life is being planned for a later date.
