Bonita Kay Zinnel, 72, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Friday, December 17, 2021, at her home in Fort Dodge. Services will be Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at 1:00 PM at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel in Fort Dodge. Visitation will be from 11:00 until time of service on Tuesday at the Gunderson Funeral Home in Fort Dodge. A private burial will be held in the Union Cemetery in Humboldt, Iowa. Bonita Kay Brownfield, the daughter of Melvin James and Shirley (Anderson) Brownfield, was born October 11, 1949, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. On August 26, 1989, Bonita married Kenneth Zinnel at the Zion Lutheran Church in Humboldt. Bonita was employed as the store manager for Amuse-O-Matic Arcade Center in the Crossroads Mall in Fort Dodge. She enjoyed decorating her home and loved being a full-time grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Zinnel; her three children, Teresa Koster (Randy) of Oswego, Illinois, Johnny Skow (Krista) of Ankeny, Iowa, and Stacy Dorothy (Trent) of Fort Dodge, Iowa; three sisters, Denise (Bob) Murphy of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Cheryl Frank (Darin) of New London, Minnesota and Cathy Boe (Randy) of Morris Minnesota; her 8 grandchildren; Cody & Emily Koster, Ryan (Bree), Andrew, and Olivia Skow, Samantha & Brock Bobinet & Jacob Schultz, her father Melvin James Brownfield. Bonita was preceded in death by her grandparents and her mother, Shirley. Please, no flowers, memorials to the discretion of the family.
