Donald Merle Jobe Sr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Donald Merle Jobe Sr., 76, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2019 at the Paula J. Barber Hospice House in Fort Dodge, Iowa, with his daughter at his side. He was not alone, nor afraid to begin this new journey; surrounded by those that loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his father, Orla Merle and mother, Mary Clarene. Donald is survived by his daughter, Christina Jobe-Fuchsen of Fort Dodge, IA; son, Douglas Jobe of Dakota City, IA; son, Donald (Shar) Jobe Jr. of Pocahontas, IA; beloved granddaughter, Samantha Evangeline Fuchsen of Iowa City, IA; granddaughter, Niellie (Ian) Decker of Humboldt, IA; granddaughter, Nicki Jobe of State Center, IA; granddaughter, Bella Jobe of Pocahontas, IA; great-granddaughter, Zoey Decker of Humboldt, IA; brother, Robert Douglas (Sandy) Jobe of Bear, DE; brother, Darrell (Leisa) Jobe of Colo, IA; brother, Duane (Norma) Jobe of Council Bluffs, IA; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Donald was born August 10, 1943 to Orla Merle and Mary Clarene Jobe of Fort Dodge, Iowa. As a young man her grew up in Fort Dodge and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School. Donald was a veteran of the Vietnam War; he served with distinction as a Marine and was proud of his service to his country. Donald worked for the Illinois Central and Canadian National Railroad until his retirement as a signal inspector. We will miss his kindness and generous heart. He was a wonderful, loving father and grandfather who always put family first. He loved to laugh and lived life to the fullest. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
