George Bartlett, 66, of Fort Dodge passed away Friday, February 12, 2021, at UnityPoint Health Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 20, 2021, at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel with nephew Vernon Meyer officiating. Burial will follow at North Lawn Cemetery. A visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, February 19, at the Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services. George is survived by his son, Kyle (Jana) Bartlett their children Landon and Blake, daughter, Kayla (Tyler) Habhab and their children, Ryleigh and Blayre Habhab all of Fort Dodge, daughter, Stacy (Steve) Wozniak and their children, Brianna, Alex, and Jonathan of Omaha, Nebraska. George’s three siblings, Ron (Kay) Bartlett of Ames, Iowa, Bonny James of Mesquite, Texas, and Greg Bartlett of Nevada, Iowa. George was preceded in death by his wife, Candy (Johnston) Bartlett, his father, Arthur Bartlett, his mother, L. Viola (Groth) Bartlett, and his sister Connie (Bartlett) Meyer. George Edward Bartlett was born January 1, 1955, in Sac City, Iowa, to parents Arthur Bartlett and L. Viola (Groth) Bartlett. George attended Sac City Community School and graduated in 1973. He attended two years at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa, and then worked for Royal Industries Noble Division, where he was a parts foreman. George worked for many years in the auto financing industry. Most recently, George was the Finance Manager at Karl Chevrolet in Webster City, Iowa. On November 17, 1978, he was united in marriage to Candace Jo Johnston in Elk Point, South Dakota. The couple first established their home in Sac City, Iowa, and then spent a short time in Carroll, Iowa, before moving to Fort Dodge in 1987. George loved the Chicago Bears, the Iowa Hawkeyes, and watching sports. George always attended his grandchildren’s events and activities and was their number one fan. The absolute most important thing in his life was his family, especially his grandchildren. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
