John Ernest Kastendieck

John Ernest Kastendieck, 63, of Fort Dodge, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at Trinity Regional Medical Center. Gunderson Funeral Home is serving the family. A celebration of life will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, November 13, 2021, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge. Visitation will take place from 5-7 p.m. Friday, November 12, 2021, at Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Private interment will be at Graceland Cemetery prior to the service Saturday. John is survived by his wife, Tina R. Kastendieck, their five children, John T. Kastendieck (Mandy) of Fort Dodge; Tina J. Ridgely (Joshua) of Johnston, IA; Jameson Kastendieck (Danielle) of Fort Dodge; Teah Luety (Brandon) of Urbandale, IA; and Jared Kastendieck of Fort Dodge; his sister, Karen Kastendieck of Fort Dodge; mother, Mary Kastendieck of Fort Dodge; and 12 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Kastendieck in 1995. John E. Kastendieck was born on February 23, 1958, in Fort Dodge. He was raised and educated in Callender, IA. John and Tina were married on August 5, 1978, and had 5 children. In 1992, John and Tina built their own home on their property outside of Fort Dodge. John built and owned his own construction company, Kastendieck Construction since 1994 where he worked with his children. John loved spending time with his family, boating at Twin Lakes and going to gun shows and target shooting. He also had a love for muscle cars, owning multiple during his life. He enjoyed farming with his cousin, Rick, and spending time with his friends Joe, Jim, and his dog Bocephus. John was active in his church, Good Shepherd Lutheran, serving as trustee for many years. John loved his Lord and Savior and wanted everyone to have faith in Christ Jesus.
