    David Charles "Dave" Jackson

    October 15, 1957 - February 25, 2022

David C. Jackson came into this world on October 15, 1957, the youngest child of Bernie and Vivian (Dow) Jackson, in Storm Lake, Iowa. This created the other ‘Jackson 5.’ Thanks to his loyal and lifelong customers, Dave operated a very successful business for 38 years, starting Fort Dodge Glass & Tinting in 1984. In 1993, Dave married the love of his life, Teri, in Okoboji, and welcomed her two sons, Brandon and Blake, with open arms, creating the new ‘Jackson 4’ and a lifelong bond. Dave and Teri were married for 10,472 days (28 years and eight months) and enjoyed everything together from day one, especially Nascar season, travelling, music and hard work. Their love together was a true blessing from God! May you all be blessed with this same amazing love that we shared together and as a family. May his sudden passing encourage everyone to love one another and perform random acts of kindness, and don’t blink! Dave is survived by his wife Teri; sons, Brandon (Amy) Townsend, and their children Terence and Ashley; Blake Townsend (Becca Sherman); his brother Phil Jackson; his sisters, Carol Cotter, Julie (Dennis) VanRoekel, Jan Hair, his brother-in-law Steve Stark, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Linda and Mike Murphy; and many nieces, nephews, cousins along with many close friends and associates. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother-in-law, two sisters-in-law and his mother-in-law and father-in-law. Dave joined his friends, family, and excellent entertainers in heaven on February 25, 2022. I may have kissed a few frogs, but I truly found my handsome prince. What a blessing he was to all who knew him. We all love you, Dave. I will always love you, Dave. (Written by Teri) A service honoring Dave’s life will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. Austin Hill officiating. Casual attire is encouraged including, but not limited to t-shirts from favorite concerts, race car drivers, sports team jerseys, all the type of clothing Dave enjoyed wearing, especially Nascar apparel. Following the service, the family will greet friends at a reception at the Rides Banquet Center, 723 S. 31st St., Fort Dodge. Arrangements have been entrusted to Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
