Donald "Don" Campbell

Donald “Don” Campbell, 59, of Fort Dodge, died Sunday, November 15, 2020, after an 18 month battle with ALS. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, November 21, 2020, at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel with burial to follow at North Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday at the Gunderson’s Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Fort Dodge. Don is survived by his mother, Barbara Campbell of Fort Dodge; his four siblings, Pat (Jim) Peterson of Gowrie, Linda (Scott) Porter of Fort Dodge, Gary (Randi) Campbell of Hinton, Iowa and Mike Campbell of Fort Dodge; brother-in-law, Randy Nelson of Gowrie. He is preceded in death by his father, Gary Campbell and a sister, Shelly Nelson. He is also survived by 11 nieces & nephews, Emilie, Trent, David, Danielle, Kyle, Kasey, Blythe, Ryann, Zac, Nick, and Bree and his six great nieces & nephews. Donald “Don” Lee Campbell, the son of Gary and Barbara (Waggoner) Campbell was born February 5, 1961 in Fort Dodge. He was a 1979 graduate of Fort Senior High School and after high school Don moved to California. He worked for AAMCO Transmissions in Palm Springs, California from 1980 until 1989 when be moved back to Fort Dodge. Don worked for Fort Dodge Steel, USG and for the New COOP at Duncombe. Due to his ALS, Don’s last day at NEW COOP was May 23, 2019. Don loved spoiling and teasing his nieces and nephews and now spoiling a new generation of great nieces and nephews. Don loved his old cars and going to Ja-Mar’s Cruise Night, Cruise To The Woods, and car auctions. In Lieu of Flowers, please send your memorials to the ALS Association in memory of Donald Campbell.
