Helen Kathe Miller

April 15, 1927 - March 10, 2022

Helen Kathe Krumm Miller, (94) daughter of Georg and Rosle (Schneider) Krumm, born April 15, 1927, passed away on March 10 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Memorial service will be held in late spring at First Presbyterian Church with inurnment at North Lawn Cemetery. At the age of six, Helen emigrated from southern Germany to Dayton, Ohio. She earned a degree in biology from Ohio Wesleyan University and later a degree in education from University of Cincinnati. On July 6, 1951, Helen married Rev. Dr. Richard Miller. After serving two churches in Iowa, the couple moved to Ohio. Helen worked as a lab tech for Monsanto and later taught for the Cincinnati Public Schools. In 1975, they moved to Fort Dodge where she taught elementary school and was instrumental in forming the TAG program. Helen was a dedicated volunteer for several organizations and a member of the First Presbyterian Church, P.E.O. and Retired Teachers Association. She had been a resident at Friendship Haven for the past 8 years. Survivors include her children; Kathe Strunk of Boston, MA; Richard Miller (Nelly O’Malley) of Chattanooga, TN and Janice (Drew) Walden of Fitchburg, WI; 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Richard (Dick), and son-in-law Peter Strunk. Memorials may be directed to First Presbyterian Church or the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home.
